ALLEY A8
BOLESLAVKA

The historic pilgrimage route, which once led to Stará Boleslav, is now interrupted by the D8 motorway. At present it is used for access to arable land and limited recreation (for lack of more comfortable routes, it is burdened by noise, wind, heatstroke, smog). The road is located just outside the boundaries of the cadastre of Zdibi, in the cadastral area. Klecany, but it has a functional connection with the protective green system of the Zdiby municipality.
The area around the road is dominated by large blocks of arable land that are not articulated and are threatened by winds that cause erosion and soil drying. From the opposite direction, from the D8 motorway, pollutants and noise enter the area. Where the road cuts into the ravine there is an unbroken mix of trees and shrubs, with some of the original cherry avenue still evident.
Overall the area has an impersonal feel and lacks the structure of landscape vegetation, permeability is limited, and warehouse buildings and the D8 motorway loom in the background.
Our aim is to design a vegetation element that supports the insulating, protective and aesthetic function of the area as much as possible whilst maintaining the necessary serviceability of the area and preserving access to adjacent arable land.
We are implementing mixed planting of fruit trees within the original dirt road alignment where there is sufficient width for planting setbacks. Included in this footprint are Prunus avium (edible cultivars), Pyrus pyraster, Malus and Prunus domestica.
We are creating an avenue that will not only improve functionality and aesthetics, but will also provide a positive impact on the environment, residents and visitors.
Zdibsko a Nad Lomem
A total of 52 fruit trees did not find their place in the originally planned location A8 Boleslavka Avenue. Therefore, during the project we found two new suitable planting sites and after the approval of this project change nothing prevented the planting. Crutches for raptors and acacia stakes also found their way into the project.
We install raptor crutches where there is tree planting in close proximity to fields. The crutches will help the predators to perch in places that are safe for them, while avoiding young shoots of trees that they would damage with their weight. Acacia stakes, in turn, prevent farm machinery from driving up to the trees and destroying them during harvesting.
We are happy to have successfully completed the planting of each tree planned for this project and will continue to maintain them on a regular basis. We are transforming the landscape around us into a greener place, and this transformation will pay us back in many benefits in the decades to come.
