ALLEY A4
NA BRNKY – PŘEMYŠLENSKÁ

This backbone road connects the individual parts of Zdiby and Brnky, originally separate villages, and represents an important compositional axis in the urbanised area that winds through the agricultural landscape. Currently, most of this road is devoid of vegetation, but locally there is a mixture of trees and shrubs.

As part of our project we have planned the planting of five Carpinus betulus. The tree with its slender crown and strikingly smooth, grey marbled bark reaches a maximum height of 25 m and is a medium-aged tree. The Carpinus betulus was one of the trees revered by the Celts, the Germans and the ancient Slavs and symbolised confidence in one’s own energy and abilities, giving strength to endure and overcome all difficulties and helping to tolerate and reconcile differences.

This activity strengthens the isolation and protection element at the border of the built-up area and improves the aesthetic appearance of this section.

Planting trees has a positive effect on the microclimate, enhances biodiversity and generally improves the environment of the area
